What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Just one person, and I forgot that Kenadi wouldn’t be there, so for the first few minutes, we were practicing in the hallway. Learner was pretty nervous, but she warmed up, and the material we were using had some challenging words, but she responded well, and I could see her confidence growing. Her husband wasn’t there, and he often helps a little too much. I think it was a huge boost to her to see that she could do it on her own.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We talked about mothers – Patrik told 4 things about his mother, then we each told 4 things about our mothers. Ex. “My mom grew up in Wisconsin.” We would then ask the speaker “Your mom grew up in Wisconsin?” It was great to hear the learners working out how the sentences need to be formed to ask a question. At the end we listened and dictated a Beatles song. Great class!

She came well-prepared with adaptations of typical activities and the learner caught on quickly. The lesson really lent itself to self-correction and the learner was able to do a lot of that today- super awesome!
