What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): The protest chants were easily the highlight of the evening. I still need to incorporate more TPR into the lesson, but folks seemed well engaged with the document and picture I brought in around the Bugerville Workers Union.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Keli began the class by taking the learners to watch the Aztec Dancers at Irvington’s Multicultural Celebration. This was a little unexpected for everyone as she forgot to make mention of it earlier. It timed out well as Santiago was stuck in traffic and by the time we returned from the performance, he had joined us. We jumped right in to a class re: volunteering for elections.
Santi specifically made it very clear in the first Round Robin that you need only to live in the U.S. to volunteer for elections or candidates. He had a great number of physical props and did both some ‘this is a’…as well as some dictation. I noticed that Santiago, despite not having taught this class before and being thrown off a bit by circumstance, was energetic and incredibly supportive of each learner. I Being that it was our last class, every learner brought some food, including some delicious homemade tamales! It was excellent to finally meet Santiago, as well as Zoe. Laurel will be a fantastic addition to PPT. She has an exuberant charm about her. She’s super easy going and works really well with most of our learners, who are generally 2-3x her age. Alba is eager to continue volunteering her time when we classes resume in July at St. Andrews. Enjoy a little extra time in June, dear PPT peeps. See you in July. Peace! -
