What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): An eventful day! Tonights lesson talked about the recent holiday shopping sales and the lesson plan went very smoothly. Charlotte chose great sentences for the dictation progressions. It was eventful however because we had two new students who had a difficult time finding the classroom (there are 3 parking lots for David Douglas on 130th). Jess ran around the school trying to find them, and they eventually found the correct door! Now they know where we are going to be meeting every class :)

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We talked about Winter Solstice! We talked about what Winter Solstice is and how people celebrate it. Somebody asked what “herbs” were because the word was in a sentence dictation. So Jess ran out into the community garden and picked some Rosemary and we did a round robin of “This is an herb called Rosemary.”
It was a bit lower turn out than usual, but we plan to submit a robo-call out to the community to let them know about class on Thursday.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific):
Today’s lesson we went through a bit of history and tradition around celebrating Veteran’s Day. This included a round robin to share if we had any family members who are veterans or currently part of the military. We tried to watch a video, but were unable to connect to the internet. We ended with a game of bingo and two learners won at the same time, earning them the first pick in chocolate cookies.
