We started with the title of today’s lesson followed by dictation with several words that would come up later in the lesson related to measurements. Then we worked with rulers and finding different measurements. We followed that up with a game of “this is a” and some more dictation.

The facilitator then went through the abc’s, then we wrote down the title of the lesson. We followed that up with writing and reading what we wrote aloud, and with naming different items and practicing dialogue with those around the room.

We then worked with a crossword that dealt with the first amendment. None of them had ever done a crossword before and enjoyed the activity. We then did a word search with a flyer for the, “Welcome Back Vulture Day” event coming up. Then they read the flyer sentence by sentence out loud.
