    What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started the class with one learner who was excited to discuss and answer questions about the business he wanted to start, so we discussed until another learner came in, at which point we transitioned into the lesson I had planned. We started with the title of today’s lesson followed by dictation with several words that would come up later in the lesson related to measurements. Then we worked with rulers and finding different measurements. We followed that up with a game of “this is a” and some more dictation.

The facilitator then went through the abc’s, then we wrote down the title of the lesson. We followed that up with writing and reading what we wrote aloud, and with naming different items and practicing dialogue with those around the room.

    We started with ABC’s and names, and did the title of today’s lesson. We then wrote down and practiced a few dialogues, and did a round robin activity with several pictures. We then worked with a crossword that dealt with the first amendment. None of them had ever done a crossword before and enjoyed the activity. We then did a word search with a flyer for the, “Welcome Back Vulture Day” event coming up. Then they read the flyer sentence by sentence out loud. We ended with a a couple of other dictation sentences.

We then did a word search with the lyrics for the song “Thriller.” After that, we did a dialogue asking if anyone had seen the video for thriller, then watched part of the video and followed along with the lyrics. We followed this with a round robin dialogue using different candy and ended with Halloween bingo.
