What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We started out the class as usual with the alphabet sheet for about 15 minutes. Then we did dictation and wrote a few sentences about the Declaration of Independence. We also played a video and told the learners to listen and write any words that they hear throughout the first time, then they watched it a second time and went back through the document to find the words they wrote down. We also did round robin and a few more sentences of dictation at the end of the class.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Class started pretty late as we waited for most of the learners to arrive along with their kids. We did an introductory speech that spanned roughly half an hour. This was followed by dictation of the lesson title and a few action verbs such as run, swim, walk, jog, etc. There were a lot of learners and they did work together though it took a while to set up the class initially. There was also construction happening right next to the classroom so there was a lot of background noise that distracted.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We did a variety of activities in today’s class starting with Alphabet Listen and Point followed by dictation. We used sunscreen as a base for the dictation and wrote a few facts about it. We also did round robin with photos of summer articles such as towel, sunscreen, flip flops, swimsuit, tote bag, etc. followed by a listen and do activity to demonstrate ‘put on a hat’, ‘reapply sunscreen’, ‘staying in the shade’, etc. The class ended with watching a short video about a song by Ella Fitzgerald.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Today Marc introduced the Tree Inventory event that is open to the community happening on Saturday. We did dictation based on what he does and the various materials needed when doing tree inventory. We also passed around the items and did round robin with them. The students were engaged and seemed to enjoy being able to touch the items and learn more about them.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): Today in class we showed the learners various materials needed to inventory trees aftee the usual activities. We practiced dictation based on the object names i.e. measuring wheel, DBH tape, Clinometer, and a data sheet.

What happened (as short or as long as you like, but be specific): We had the learners read from an excerpt of the Declaration of Independence and did a mix of activities including a video of the Schoolhouse of Rock. We did a number of dictation activities using the words from the Declaration of Independence as a base and practiced pronunciation along with some common vocabulary such as ‘drive’, ‘shake’, ‘hug’, etc.

We did a lot of dictation after the usual yell and spell activities, and a point and listen activity where students had to find certain words in the text, similar to a scavenger hunt.
