An ideology characterized by equity in agency and self-determination for men and women. A feminist perspective affirms that patriarchy (rule by males) is the dominant human relation and social organization in the world today, and takes many different forms across different cultures. P-P-T is a feminist organization in that it acknowledges that oppression of women (and other oppressions) exist, and is consciously trying to establish equity and self-determination for all by its existence. This doesn’t mean that every teacher or learner considers themselves a feminist – but all must acknowledge that P-P-T does. Contrast this with “diversity” which is an attempt to celebrate difference without acknowledging institutional oppression.
