Aprendiz is the Spanish word for “apprentice”, but also related to the Spanish/French/Latin word for “learn”, “understand”, and “grasp”. Aprendiz is the word we use for a person enrolled in the English for the Community Certificate program, or any beginning interculturalist who has decided to develop basic competence.
