Saturday December 12th, The Portland Mercado will present The Portland Posada – sponsored by Hispanicpros.

This will launch the Mercado’s new Pop-Up store. The very first one will be called Holiday Bazar, hosted by People-Places-Things. The Bazar will run from Saturday December 12th through Sunday December 20th.

We are looking for arts and crafts vendors now. We will prioritize quality crafts at all price ranges, especially vendors of Latino/hispano/indigenous heritage.

There are two ways to participate:

Preferred Vendor + Gift Shop (12th-20th): $100 gives you access to a product display space (“puesto”) inside the market hall on December 12th. Details are still being worked out, but it will either be a flat 3×3 table (which you can add risers and your own display elements) or a rolling cart with shelves.

Vendors take 100% of their sales and must be present throughout the day. Vendors will need their own payment management system (there is an ATM on site and cash purchases will be encouraged). We encourage you to keep your items in the Gift Shop as well – that will gain you additional sales, and promotion throughout the following week.

Gift Shop Only (12th-20th): People-Places-Things will staff the Gift Shop from the 12th through the 20th. We will charge a 20% commission to cover staffing & electronic payment costs and encourage sales. Vendors do not need to be present, and People-Places-Things will have a liability agreement in place to protect you.

We encourage vendors to collaborate and share the cost of their puesto or shelving fee, but we need a single point of contact and a name for the vendor/collaborative.

Hundreds of people will attend this event!  Due to limited space and high visibility, you need to reserve your puesto by paying fees in advance to be considered for selection. If you are not selected, we will refund you in full.

The hours are scheduled to be 10am to 8pm on the weekends (including the day of the Posada), and 4pm to 8pm on weekdays.
